Oh, what excitement! Not only all this beauty, including asters (love them!), evening primrose, and an entirely stunning photo of clover, but who should I find at the end but one of my favourite humans, Steven Charleston! Oh, be joyful! Thank you so much for this loveliness.
the way tears just-about-well in my eyes as i view these photos and read about this place; such a 'relatively short time' i spent there and she's in my heart like MCR is in my heart in such a particular way. she's a part of my own urban mythic, 'separated' by an ocean yet with immediacy of emotion, profound sense memory, In The Body. i remember the 'forever,' i remember so many things. i love that substack gives you so much more room to share her with us. thank you jez 💚💚💚🙏🙏
It’s indeed lovely to listen instead of read in the early mornings! What a lovely get away place 🍁🌼🌿🌾 Thank you for mentioning the Golden Rod! I have them in the garden too (like the primroses), but didn’t know what they were!
Great listen. Always been interested in Pomona and the history - walked along it every day during HF days. Didn't know about its ownership but assumed it would only be a matter of time until it gets swallowed up. Beautiful poem - look forward to November 👍
Thanks for listening mate. Yeah, Peel Holdings are the owners, which should tell you all you need to know. They're doing their best to keep everyone out completely these days... But there are ways and means :)
Yes, yes, yes! Loving attention for one patch of land makes my heart sing.x
Thanks Lydia. There's PLENTY more of this to come!

Thanks Audrey 🙏🏼
Glad you're finding it suitably evocative of your deep embodied memories of Pomona 💚
